Just as the frequency and amount of water and nutrients you give your houseplants depends on your indoor environment, where your plants grow how much light, humidity and the temperature are all factors in deciding what is the right method for you and your air plants. These saprophytic fungi don’t harm your plants and in fact, can even help them! This is a perfect opportunity to explore the relationship between soil microbes and how they interact with our houseplants!

Epicuticular waxes are three dimensional crystals covering the outermost layer of most land plants. These waxes appear as a white, blush, grey, or our most favorite color of all...glaucous!

When the suns shines less intensely and temperatures drop, the natural world slows down. Winter has set in. This is our quiet cue to slow down and rest more during these shorter days and longer nights. The same is true for your houseplants.
