An “insectary” is a place for rearing insects, be it outdoors in the field, or a commercial facility. An “insectary species” is a plant that provides food, pollen, or shelter that enhances fecundity for insects, especially beneficial kinds. This mix is intended as a perennial backbone for a hedge or border that will serve as seasonal windbreak and long term oasis for bug ranching and bird feeding. Add other ornamental perennials and annuals to give allies a year-round wild garden.
