Instructions for use

SACRED SOIL TONIC

We recommend using 10ml (2 tsp) tonic per one gallon of water, shake to mix well (or blend to create the foamy soil bath), and watering slowly into the soil. For heavy feeding plants or active pest infestations we recommend using up to 20ml (4 tsp) per 1 gallon water.

Want to mix up a smaller batch?

Use 1/4 teaspoon per 16 ounces of water for maintenance and 1/2 teaspoon per 16 ounces for active infestations or heavy feeding plants.

SACRED LEAF TONIC

Shake well before each use! Best used solely as a foliar spray once a week for regular care and leaf cleaning or more frequently if dealing with an active pest infestation. We recommend using 10ml (2 tsp) tonic per one gallon of water, shaking to mix well (or blending). While spraying down your plants be sure to spray the fronts and undersides of leaves, stems and petioles to ensure every inch of your plant is soaking in the botanicals infused into the tonics.

We have found the more velvety leaved plants (Anthuriums, Philodendron Micans, etc) thrive on a slightly lower dosage of Sacred Leaf Tonic. A half dose of 5ml (1 tsp) tonic per gallon of water is the sweet spot to get them glowing.

Want to mix up a smaller batch?

Use 1/4 teaspoon per 16 ounces of water.

Evening application recommended, avoid times of intense light/heat.

Spot test sensitive plants & wait 24-48 hours before applying to the entire plant(s).

Shake bottle well before use and after mixing with water.

Sacred Soil Tonic can be used as both a soil drench and as a foliar feed. We recommend using 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon per 16 ounces of water or 10ml tonic to one gallon water, mix and water into the soil or spray your whole plant. For heavy feeding plants we recommend doing up to 20ml per one gallon water.

Sacred Leaf Tonic is best used solely as a foliar spray once weekly for regular care and leaf cleaning or more frequently if dealing with an active pest infestation. Always shake the bottle first! We recommend using 1/4 teaspoon per 16 ounces of water or 10ml tonic to one gallon water, mixing well (or blending), and spraying down your entire plant. Be sure to spray the fronts and undersides of leaves, stems, petioles, etc to ensure every inch of your plant is able to drink in the plant medicines!

*We have found the more velvety leaved plants (Anthuriums, Philodendron Micans, etc) thrive on a slightly lower dosage of Sacred Leaf Tonic. 5ml tonic/ gal of water is the sweet spot to get them glowing. Evening application recommended, avoid times of intense light/heat. Spot test sensitive plants & wait 24-48hrs before applying to the entire plant(s). SHAKE BOTTLE WELL BEFORE USE! For extra strength use 15ml/ gal water.

NOTE: Plants that have a thick chalky white coating such as certain succulents, air plants, staghorn ferns, and banana plants have a protective layer called an epicuticular wax. This hydrophobic coating acts as a natural sunscreen for your plant, so avoid spraying the foliage. Instead give plants with this epicuticular wax soil drenches with Sacred Soil Tonic.

*Pure, cold pressed neem oil solidifies around 55 degrees Fahrenheit and below, so natural separation will occur. For this reason, we recommend running the Sacred Leaf Tonic bottle under warm water until it melts and shake well before using!

When stored in a cool, dark, dry place our tonics are shelf stable for at least four years. By that time, your plants will have already drank up the entire bottle!

*We recommend feeding while plants are receiving plenty of light and in general it’s best to offer these baths during the growing season or while growing under lights.

Instructions for one gallon application Sacred Soil Bath

-You will need: Sacred Soil Tonic + H2O + Glass jar with lid, milk jug or blender

-Pour 10-20ml (2-4 teaspoons) of our Sacred Soil Tonic into blender. The more tonic, the foamier the bath!

(No blender? No problem! You can use a large vessel with a lid (a jug or large mason jar) to allow empty space inside for the mixture to have space to be properly agitated).

-Add 3/4 of the water

-Close lid and shake hard for 30-45 seconds until foamy or blend for 30 seconds on medium/high speed.

-Add remaining water to fulfill the proper ratio (10ml or 2 teaspoons for maintenance applications and 20ml or 4 teaspoons for active pest infestation applications)

-Pour *slowly* and enjoy the sound of saponin-rich botanicals sinking into your soil nourishing your plants from the inside out!

*Note: We use the higher dosage when dealing with pests and the lower for general nourishment

Absolutely! The mixture is best used within 2 months stored in the refrigerator. Be sure to let it warm up to room temp and give it a good, hard shake before applying each time!

Through our years of hands on research coupled with countless testimonials from our customers experiences, pests like fungus gnats, spider mites, root aphids, thrips, scale, mealybugs don’t survive on plants while using our tonics.

Consistency with soil drenches and foliar applications is key, especially when knocking out the whole life cycle of soil borne pests.

Keep at it and your plants will thank you!

For soil borne pests such as fungus gnats and root aphids, we recommend giving your plants a Sacred Soil Bath using Sacred Soil Tonic at every watering at extra strength (20ml/gal) for the first month. After the first month, switch back to a maintenance dosage (10-15ml) at each watering going forward.

Be sure to allow the soil to dry out sufficiently between waterings. Keep in mind that frequency of watering and dry time are plant and your ambient environment dependent.

For optimal results and to speed up your plant’s recovery, pair this ritual with using sticky fly paper. We find cutting the paper into smaller pieces and sticking it inside the pot most effective as the larvae hatch and immediately get trapped. Spray the top two inches of your soil with Sacred Leaf Tonic to ensure maximum benefits when ridding soil borne pests. You can even spray your pot for an added layer of protection!

For all other pests, we suggest giving you plants Sacred Soil Baths in addition to spraying your plants (Be sure to spray the front and undersides of leaves, stems, petioles, etc) with Sacred Leaf Tonic once a day for a few days. Take a day off and observe any changes, then continue with the tonics every other day for a week. Spray every two days the following week then continue at once a week going forward for a few months.

This Tonic contains plant medicine extracts such as neem seed, leaf, and bark that work in synergy with microbes in the soil. In their native habitat, neem trees form beneficial mycorrhizal relationships with the soil in addition to protecting against pests and pathogens.

As neem trees shed their leaves, organic matter is returned to the Earth and soil fertility is enhanced. Through decomposition, earthworms, mycorrhizal fungi, and micro flora are all magnetized to this nutrient rich detritus creating a biologically abundant closed loop system.
In the same way neem trees create symbiosis with surrounding soil life, watering your plant babies with Sacred Soil Tonic encourages healthy life to flourish while wiping out any unwanted pests or pathogens.

Our tonics restore balance to soil systems for health that radiates from the inside out.

Absolutely not! Sacred Soil Tonic was specifically formulated for soil drenching for simultaneous IPM and fertilization. This Tonic contains plant medicine extracts such as neem seed, leaf, and bark that work synergy with microbes in the soil. Neem alone has been shown to attract earthworms, mycorrhizal fungi, and micro flora + enhances overall soil fertility.

Soil drenching with Soil Tonic encourages healthy life to flourish while wiping out any pests or pathogens in the soil.

Our tonics actually attract pollinators with terpene rich plant medicines such as lemon verbena, peppermint, and citrus. These plants all contain compounds that attract pollinators and beneficial insects while also warding off pests! These plant medicines have an innate intelligence and built-in mechanisms to protect themselves.

These same compounds that these plants produces are extracted, concentrated, and infused into our tonics for plants to absorb. Because of this, when you spray your garden, you may actually notice pollinators buzzing around afterwards as they are drawn to these aromas , and now they have them all in a single location!

For Sacred Soil Tonic, we recommend you soil drench once weekly or whenever your plants need to be watered during the growing season.

When using Sacred Leaf Tonic, we recommend you shower plants once weekly or more often during an active pest infestation.

When daylight starts decreasing and winter approaches, we recommend using the tonics less often (unless you are supplementing with grow lights in your space). You can either half your regular dosage or apply our tonics at the regular dosage just once or twice monthly.

The short answer is yes, but in a modified way.

Leca is a lightweight expanded clay aggregate. Sacred Soil Tonic was created to nourish the ecosystem between your plants and the soil, not necessarily just between leca (a baked clay substrate) and water. A

Our tonics are made with living botanical organisims which, if left in water for too long, will begin to decompose.

So, here's what we recommend:

During the growing season, use Sacred Soil Tonic as a supplement. One time per month add a half dose 1 teaspoon per gallon, to your water and apply to lecca for up to 24 hours, like a boost of vitamins! Then, rinse clean and replace with new water.

Yes absolutely! Both of our tonics contain extracts of plant medicine.

Neem actually increases flavor and aroma of food & medicine crops because of its potent concentrations of sulfur! Plus you can harvest from your garden the same day you spray as our tonics are food grade and 100% organic.

Absolutely, but in a modified way.

Sacred Soil Tonic was created to nourish the ecosystem between your plants and the soil, not necessarily between orchid bark and water. And, our tonic is made with living botanical organisims which, if left in water for too long, will begin to decompose.

So, here's what we recommend:

During the growing season, use Sacred Soil Tonic as a supplement. One time per month add a half dose of 1 teaspoon per gallon to a dish of water and allow your orchid to soak for up to 24 hours giving it a nice boost nutrition!

We suggest quarantining your plants that you’ll be spraying consistently to treat pest infestation. The oil typically takes a few days to soak in completely, so just to be safe we suggest moving your freshly sprayed plants to a space where your furry friends won’t be able to access them.

Certain essential oils such as lavender can be harmful to pets when used improperly, so we recommend doing a bit of research to determine if this will be best for your situation. From our experience, we haven’t had any issues with our own pets (cats and dogs) after nearly four years of regular and consistent use.

Our tonics are safe to use on most plants with the exception of our Sacred Leaf Tonic on plants that have a waxy coating (aka epicuticular wax) such a certain succulents and cacti, air plants, and Staghorn ferns.

Epicuticular wax is a layer of whitish film on the leaves, stems and fruits of a wide variety of plants. You can find it on blueberries, plums, red grapes, apples, kale and many succulents. It forms on the outer cuticle of the plant’s skin. This wax makes water bead up, rather than truly wet the plant at the same time, it helps the plant stay hydrated and helps it retain moisture. Epicuticular wax also reflects UV radiation, acting essentially as a sunscreen, preventing damage to the plant in the form of sunburn.

Finally, it tends to make the surface more difficult for insects to walk on or to lay their eggs.
