Whether you are dealing with pests or just feeling the desire to create a therapeutic routine, we're here to inspire that practice. We understand the feeling of panic and frustration when you discover pests (or rediscover them after you thought you had solved the issue) and know how it can feel stressful and confusing. We’re here to help turn all of that around.
Taking care of our precious plant babies is an opportunity to learn and can be a time to unwind and connect with the natural world. Carve out space to create a therapeutic hour to be with your plants, brew yourself a cup of nourishing tea, and slowly walk around observing, notice the details and allow this to become a time to slow down and reconnect with our precious natural world through the plant medicines in our Sacred Tonics and Teas.
When we tuen our otherwise normal day to day activities into intentional rituals, we have the space to drop back into our bodies and out of our analytical minds. From this place, we are able to pause, reflect and respond rather than react.
Cultivating and tending to our inner gardens is just as important (if not more) as tending to our outer gardens. When prioritizing both, we are able to show up in the world for our people (and plants) as the best versions of ourselves. This, of course, spills over and nourishes all aspects of our lives.
So what exactly is a Sacred Plant Ritual and its benefits?
A Sacred Plant Ritual is intentional plant care. Often times when caring for our plants, we can become distracted, minds wandering to internal dialogue, lists that need checking off. A Sacred Plant Ritual is an invitation to slow down, to truly focus on your plants and their needs the same way you would for yourself or a loved one. The plants we keep are extensions of ourselves, so taking the time to thoughtfully nurture them, this time and ritual actually nourishes us too.
On watering days, taking a stroll in your sacred space (indoor or out) carefully observing your plants. We love to whip up a tonic latte for ourselves first and slowly moving through this ritual of plant care, tea in hand feels so rejuvenating. We actually sip on the same botanicals that feed our plants! Herbs such as tulsi, fenugreek, and star anise are infused into both our Sacred Tonics and our herbal teas. We've come up with a nourishing tea recipe that incorporates the same botanical plant medicine.
Let’s dive in:
MATCHA TEA RECIPE:
Starting with steeping your favorite tea (we like to infuse 1-2 teaspoons of our Herbal Chai or Sacred Sip). Steep in hot water for 10 minutes, Cover while steeping to keep in the botanical medicine! Strain and then add 1tbsp of raw cream, 1-2 tbsp maple syrup, 2 tsp matcha powder, & a pinch of salt. Blend on high for about 15 seconds, pour, and enjoy. Equally energizing and grounding, this latte makes for the perfect midday plant care pick-me-up.
Alternatively, a more rich coffee-like latte can be created using the same base botanicals as our tonics. This is our heart opening cacao recipe featuring peppermint, tulsi, red clover, and nettle among others.
HEART OPENING TEA RECIPE:
Starting with a base of tea, we infuse 1-2 teaspoons Sacred Sip Tea steeped for 10 minutes in 8 oz of hot water. Be sure to cover the tea while steeping to keep in all that botanical goodness! Strain. Add 1 tbsp raw cacao powder, 1 tbsp maca powder, 1-2 tbsp raw cream, and 1-2 tbsp maple syrup. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on medium until frothy!
Now for our creating our plant’s latte. We like to whip up a batch of Sacred Soil Tonic in the blender to create a creamy latte for our plant babies. This can also be done just using a 1 gallon jug.
This plant latte gives plants a nutritional boost straight through the soil and roots to help them grow stronger, faster, and with more vitality over time. Our tonics also contain extracts of neem which work to simultaneously treat + ward off pests while feeding soil microbes!
Sip your own tonic latte and enjoy the sensory experience as the sound of saponins sink into the soil creating radiant health from the inside out.
We give thanks and honor these botanicals for the healing they offer- humans and plants alike. Cheers to nourishing ourselves and our plants together!
Happy growing friends,
